Iraqi Offficial Denies Nuclear Material Vanishing

The International Atomic Energy Agency Monday raised the concern that neither Washignton nor Baghdad noticed the disappearance of nuclear equipment and materials once closely monitored by the agency. The IAEA says that satellite imagery shows the complete dismantling of buildings which housed equipement that could assist a government or terrorist group in making a nuclear bomb. If materials have been moved by the interim goverenment or the U.S. they must report it to the IAEA. However, to date no report has been filed. Iraq’s Science and Technology Minister Rashad Omar responded to IAEA's report saying "the locations that belong to the Science and Technology ministry are secure and under our control." Omar welcomed back U.N. inspectors to check for any loss equipment or materials.
